Here’s a little story all about how I needed some nourishing self-care after a small but annoying fail and turned to Golde’s Clean Greens Face Mask to make it all better.
So, I tried to do knotless braids on myself today. This attempt was not a success in any way. Nothing good came of it, and it proved that there’s a possibility that I rely too heavily on Youtube for my styling needs.
You may be wondering, what does this have to do with anything? It’s a global pandemic Sis, tick-tock, but follow me I’m going somewhere with this.
Feeling defeated after my botched attempt, I decided to try out the green mask by super trendy Black-owned brand Golde that I’ve been meaning to put to the test.
I now feel like I accomplished something meaningful today.
Now, let me just say. This isn’t a cute moment, taking a self-care sunday selfie with this mask on is not for the faint of heart. If you live with somebody, tell them what’s about to go down and/or have them leave you alone for a minute. Otherwise, they will be alarmed.
Also something to note, once you get the green mess off of your fingers, your face is gonna get tight. Real tight. Tight like a post-botox smile. That tight.
However, as I sit here with a freshly washed face and type this my skin feels like it drank a green smoothie — clean, refreshed, and like I’m actively taking care of myself (which is what I was trying to do with those damn braids anyway).
