Late last year, as the 2020 dust began to settle, subtle hints started showing up on Fe Noel and Sew Trill’s Instagram accounts that there was a collaboration brewing — as a superfan of both women and their work this seemed like the perfect parting gift for making it through the storm,
When it comes to Black-owned women-run brands, Fe Noel is and always has been at the top of my list.
Her statement-making pieces never ever disappoint, the silhouettes are timeless and the way she honors Blackness and her Caribbean roots are unmatched. I still can’t bring myself to talk about the Carenage Stripe pants that I lost and almost found because well, it physically hurts.
Christina Martinez is another timeline favorite. I began following her as a new mom trying to figure it all out & her gorgeous pieces of art that encourage women to ‘bloom’ (via June and Mars) resonated with me in a major way.
